The smile on the face of a child choosing a new pair of shoes for the first time ever. The relief of a caregiver learning that they can have the equipment they need for their mother at no charge. The dignity of a sexual assault survivor leaving the hospital in new clothes, rather than borrowed scrubs. These are the people we serve. The lives we touch.

Assistance League of Denver (ALD) has been serving the greater Denver community since 1958.

A nonprofit organization powered primarily by volunteers, ALD helps at-risk children and adults through innovative programs tailored to the needs of our community. In our fiscal year ending May 2025, Assistance League of Denver served 14,968 people and returned $1,245,867 to meet the needs of people in our community. ALD’s mission is to transform lives by collaborating with schools, families, and seniors to enhance educational experiences and improve health and well being.

Our philanthropic programs target underserved populations in two areas: Students & Families and Health & Well-being. Key to the success of these programs is to incorporate community feedback to ensure we are addressing acute needs as well as providing ongoing, transformational support. Last year our volunteers devoted 25,852 hours to service.


Your generous donation can help clothe a school child, provide them with supplies, and give them independent reading books. You can help send an entire class on a field trip to a place they could otherwise not afford to visit, or you can help bring an arts program to the whole school! You can also feed a family in crisis. Your selfless gift can help provide hospital equipment to an invalid who otherwise would not recuperate, or your gift can provide clothes to a victim of sexual assault. Your thoughtful contribution can provide lunch and social activities for seniors, or a celebration for residents of a low-income healthcare center.
